Citino vs Peec AI

The difference is what gets measured, not who measures it better

Both tools ask AI assistants what they say about brands and report it back. That part is the category, not a differentiator.

There is one structural difference, and it is not a feature. Peec AI publishes what it publishes about how it collects; Citino collects for a whole category at once, on a shared daily index, whether or not anyone in that category is a customer. Everything below follows from that one choice — including the parts where it is a disadvantage.

The one real difference

Collection runs per category,
not per account.

Per-account collectionA customer signs up, writes prompts, and collection begins. The history starts at zero on the day they pay. Nothing in a category is measured until somebody in it buys.

What attaches per account: your claimed brand, your own GA4 traffic joined to the prompts that drove it, your custom prompts, and your experiments measured against the category baseline. Those are private, and they are the only things that scale per customer. This is a trade: category prompts describe how the category is shopped, which is wrong for a brand whose buyers ask questions nobody else gets asked. Custom prompts exist for that.

Figures illustrative; brands fictional.
Consequences

Your first chart is
already populated.

Two things follow from category collection, and they are the only two claims on this page that Peec AI structurally cannot match while collecting per account.

History exists before you do90 days

Most categories on the index already carry a quarter. Your first chart has trend, seasonality and a baseline to measure a change against. Per-account collection spends your first month generating it.

The next subscriber$0.00

Marginal cost of adding one more subscriber to a category already running. That is why pricing starts at $79 self-serve and the category report is free to read.

The honest limit5–10 days

A category not on the index yet takes 5–10 business days to open, and it starts at zero days of history like anything else.

Capabilities

Capabilities, with a source
on every row.

Every row here is checked against what each vendor publishes on its own site or documentation, and the Source column links to it. Where Peec AI does not publish an answer, the cell reads "Not published — we could not verify this" and links nothing. We do not fill those cells from review sites, forum threads, sales calls, or a trial we ran.

The last two rows are not modesty. They are the rows a procurement team reads first, and putting them in the table rather than in a footnote is the cheapest credibility on the page.

Honest answer

When Peec AI is the better choice.

Your category is not on our index and you need data this week.

We measure six categories today and open new ones in 5–10 business days. If you cannot wait, or your category is too narrow to have a brand set worth a table, per-account collection starts the day you ask for it. That is a real advantage, and it is the most common reason to choose something else.

Your buyers do not ask the category’s questions.

Our index prompts describe how a category is shopped. If your brand sells into a use case nobody else in the category serves, the category table describes a race you are not in. Custom prompts cover it — but if custom prompts are going to be most of your measurement, you are paying for an index you barely use.

You need Copilot or Google AI Overviews in the numbers.

We do not sample them. Neither exposes an official answer API, and we are not willing to scrape an answer and call it a measurement. If your reporting has to include them and Peec AI publishes that it covers them, that requirement decides it.

Procurement requires certifications.

We have none — no SOC 2, no ISO. We publish the methodology instead, which satisfies a technical reviewer and does not satisfy a security questionnaire. If yours is a hard gate, this is not a negotiation.

You need an account team, an SLA, or a company behind the contract.

Citino is two people. Support is direct and fast, which is genuinely better at small scale and genuinely worse as a dependency for an enterprise rollout. Judge that honestly against what you need.

You want the work done, not measured.

Citino measures and explains. It does not write your pages, place your brand, or promise placement. If what you want is someone to do the content work, a measurement tool of any kind is the wrong purchase.

You already run Peec AI and it answers your question.

Switching costs time, re-baselines your history, and breaks reporting continuity for a month. "A competitor exists" is not a reason to pay that. Read your category’s benchmark for free, see whether it tells you something you do not already have, and switch only if it does.

Terms of this comparison · No screenshots, no adjectives, one date

No screenshot of Peec AI's product appears on this page. Not a marked-up one, not a cropped one, not a "representative" one. A screenshot ages the moment they ship, and a stale screenshot presented as current is a lie with a timestamp attached.

Peec AI is described only in terms of what Peec AI publishes. No claims about their accuracy, their pricing if they do not publish it, their customers, their roadmap, their funding, or their internals. No adjectives applied to their product. Their name and marks belong to them and are used here to identify them, which is the whole of the relationship.

One date governs the page. This comparison was last checked on 21 Sep 2026 against public information, and it is re-checked every 90 days. If Peec AI tells us a row is wrong or out of date, we fix it and change the date; the correction path is the one the benchmark pages use.

If a row here is wrong, tell us. That invitation is real, and it applies to Peec AI before it applies to anyone else.

Read your category's benchmark before you switch anything

The fastest way to judge this is not to read our comparison of us. Open the category report, look at how the numbers are banded, look at what happens to a move smaller than its own error bar, and look at whether the sources tell you anything you can act on this week. It costs nothing and needs no account.
