Terms of service in plain words

The service

Citino asks AI assistants the questions you choose, every day, and reports how they answer: which brands they name, in what order, how they describe them and which pages they read. It helps you find and fix the gaps behind a weak showing and measures whether each fix worked. ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity are included on every plan; other engines are add-ons or part of Enterprise, as set out on the pricing page.

By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you use Citino for a company, you confirm you may accept them on its behalf, and “you” means that company.

Your account

• You sign in with an email and password or with Google. Keep your sign-in details to yourself.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite to it.
• Give us accurate details, and tell us at support@citino.ai if you think your account has been misused.

Plans and billing

• Plans are priced by the number of prompts you track, as shown on the pricing page when you buy.
• Monthly plans renew each month and have no minimum term. Annual plans are billed once a year at 25% off the monthly price and renew each year.
• You can move up or down a step at any time. There are no overage charges: prompts above your limit wait until you make room or move up.
• Add-on engines are charged per prompt per month and can be added or removed any month.
• Prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes, which are added where the law requires. Fees already paid are not refunded, except where the law requires it.
• If we change a price, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and the change starts from your next billing period.

Your data

What you put into Citino, such as your brands, competitors, prompts and connected analytics, and the reports made from it, is yours. You let us use it only to run, secure and improve the service for you. How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.

You can get your data out through the API, from 250 prompts, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Acceptable use

Do not use Citino to:

• break the law or the terms of the AI services, websites or analytics tools you connect;
• track prompts designed to extract personal data about private individuals;
• overload, probe or attack the service, or get around plan limits or access controls;
• resell the service, except as an agency on an Agency plan for your own clients.

We may suspend an account that does any of these, and we will tell you why.

AI answers and results

Citino reports what AI assistants answered. It does not control those answers, and it never promises that an assistant will name or recommend you: the engines decide, and Citino measures what they decided. Answers vary from run to run, which is why every number comes with a margin of error. Fixes we draft are suggestions you review before they are published.

Figures, brands and screens shown on our website are illustrative unless they say otherwise. The method is described on the methodology page.

Our software and content

The Citino service, software, website, documentation at docs.citino.ai and brand belong to Citino. We give you a right to use the service for your own business while your plan is active. Do not copy, reverse-engineer or resell it. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.

Ending the service

• You can cancel at any time in your workspace settings or by writing to support@citino.ai. Your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
• We may end the service for you if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
• After your account closes, we delete your data as set out in the privacy policy. Get anything you need out before then.

Warranties and liability

We work hard to keep Citino accurate and available, but the service is provided as it is and as available, without warranties beyond those the law requires. To the extent the law allows, Citino is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost business, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. For material changes we tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days ahead. The date at the top shows the latest version.
